Dream Killers

I know we’ve all heard the term misery loves company, right? It boggles my mind how true that term is. I call those miserable people dream killers. Some how they find a way to infect you with their negative thoughts, statement, and energy and attempt to make you believe your dreams are unattainable. They’re overly cynical and pessimistic. I know the times aren’t the best, but it could be far worst. I mean you have life, good health, you’re gainfully employed, why put all that energy in to being mad at the world, what do you got against me. Just because you walk around with a frown and a grumpy demeanor doesn’t mean I have to join in on the pity parade. Why can’t I have dreams, why can’t I aim for the sky? Just because you choose to settle doesn’t mean I have too. My lord told me all things are possible through him, and I know what he has in store for me no man can take.

I refuse to let their remarks discourage me…I refuse to let their condescending laughter and jokes upset me…Big things are in store for me. My life doesn’t begin or end with my current situation. I am a soldier, I am a child of the most high God, I will achieve my dreams.

The Secret Garden photo shoot has come and gone…It was loads of fun working with the girls…They really enjoyed being in front of the camera and the center of attention. The photos turned out beautifully, thanks to my awesome photographer Tisa Smart-Washington of Affinity Pictures. Tisa is a wizard; there aren’t too many words that can express how magical and wonderful the experience was for the girls and for me too. Secret Garden

One week and counting to the Secret Garden Photo shoot. I've been excited for sometime to reintroduce my Darling Butterfly Linx girl's line. Except this time I want to incorporate my beautiful nieces in my product photos.

This should be very interesting as each girl has her own unique little way about her. And I am nearing finish. Photos of the hats to come.

A New Year, A New State of Mind

So its a New Year!!!! A new state of mind filled with a endless possibilities. I've made it through 2009 with much joy and much motivation to make my dreams a reality. So this year I commit to being a do-er and not just a dreamer. I commit to being on the starting line up and not on the sideline waiting my turn. I am holding my self accountable for each goal I set and making sure each has been met.

Failure is not an option!!!! Relentless persistent perseverance towards my goals and I will not, shall not accept defeat! All things are possible, for the Lord told me so.

The Ultimate Man Play Ground

This revelation has got to be one of the funniest about men. One Saturday morning while running my morning errands, I sat at a light pondering the many things I had to do that day. Suddenly without much thought I snapped out of my daze and set my gaze upon a car wash across the street. Now I know you may be thinking a car wash, how exciting, but what I will tell you next is absolutely amazing. So back to the car wash, as my gaze began to narrow on the fuzzy images walking about pacing back and forth, I noticed a common theme. All of the patron were men. Yes men.

Men of all ethnic backgrounds, all ages, buff ones, skinny ones, tall ones, short ones, bald ones, well you get where I'm going with this. Not only were these men diverse so were the automobiles being washed, luxury to sport utility, minivan to sports cars, two doors to four doors, colors every bit as diverse. But what I found absolutely amusing was how each of them paced back and forth. From the back around then walking back to the front. Checking for spots, then resuming. Wiping windows then circling to back to check the bumpers. I mean this was a very intense task these men were set upon. Each man was in unison taking great pride in the appearance of the car. Taking great car to make sure their car was a true show piece.

So to all the wives, girlfriends, mothers, and sisters, to all the women who have men in their lives and wonder where they disappear to on a Saturday morning. I'm here to tell its not to golf, nor play basket ball or any other sports, or to hangout with friends. No ladies, they go to play in the ultimate man play ground..... The Car Wash...
